This course explores criminal phenomena transcending international borders, transgressing the laws of several states and having an impact on Canada. The students study such types of transnational criminality as human smuggling and human trafficking, terrorism, trafficking in cultural artifacts, cyberspace, illicit traffic in arms, theft of intellectual property, sea piracy, trade in human body, illicit drug trafficking, money laundering and environmental crime. Students also learn how Canada and her international partners respond to transnational crime.
